We’re excited to welcome two new team members to the Australian Garden Council who will be integral to the success of the council’s projects, activating our events and campaigns as well as driving forward the councils message. We welcome Mike Field, who has been appointed the council's Project Administrator, and Lauren Danecek as the Communications Coordinator.
Mike has many years’ experience in marketing and business development, during which time he has held senior roles in a variety of organisations including John Fairfax Ltd, SBS Television, Reed International, IPC Magazines, The Australian Museum and The Historic Houses Trust of NSW. Most recently, Mike has been managing the carecareers and projectABLE employment initiatives which have attracted thousands of new workers into the disability and community sector.
Lauren is a horticulturist who received the Australian Institute of Horticultures 'student of the year' award in 2020. She comes to the garden industry at a later stage, having a prior successful career as an event producer both here in Australia, as well as in the USA and UK. This new direction allows Lauren to pull from both her professional experience and newly acquired horticultural skills.
Both Mike and Lauren have skills that complement the AGC Board, and we look forward to a long relationship with them both. Welcome to the team!
